Was Gov. Bobby Jindal too successful too soon?

By now we all know Jindal’s first two special sessions were successful, almost beyond belief. Did he fire all his guns at once and can he generate enough leadership to sustain the Legislature throughout the regular session?

In the Louisiana Legislature, like most state governments, some contention between the governor’s office and legislators generally protects us citizens. When they get too lovey-dovey, things can get out of hand.

But, don’t worry. There are no indications the Louisiana Legislature will turn into a love-fest for Gov. Jindal — this year or next. He will face the same scrutiny and obstinacies that have challenged our governors for years.

Jindal’s special sessions were spectacular demonstrations of political prowess, surprising supporters and detractors alike.
