Jindal keeps his promises- April 28, 2008

When we first became acquainted with Bobby Jindal 12 years ago, he had been appointed by former Gov. Mike Foster to head the Department of Health and Hospitals, the state's largest department that at the time was running a $400 million budget deficit.
He visited editorial boards frequently then, laying out step-by-step his plan to fix that problem. And fix it he did, shifting the minus sign on the department's account to a surplus of $220 million.
Jindal has maintained that frequent connection with the far-flung corners of the state as he has tackled other seemingly impossible tasks in the various roles that led him to the governor's mansion.
He's honed his skills at focusing on an issue, developing a plan of attack, communicating the goal, building consensus and knocking down the problem point by point.
So there's little reason to be astounded that Jindal's first 100 days as Louisiana's governor would be anything less than wildly successful. He did exactly what he told us all he would do.
We needed change fast. We needed momentumem needed hope.
And in 100 days, Bobby Jindal has delivered.
