BELIEVE IN LOUISIANA
Believe in Louisiana is a newly organized reform minded group which is calling on every citizen of our great state to get involved. Our initial effort encourages people to contact their legislators and urge them to support passage of ethics reform.
While the election campaign is over, we feel the push for real reform has just begun. Believe in Louisiana is confident that the new legislature is excited about enacting the Governor’s ethics reforms and we want to keep the momentum going, and make sure Louisiana makes a clean break with the past.
Believe in Louisiana feels that elected leaders can send a powerful signal to citizens, and to the entire nation, that business as usual is over in Louisiana.
Believe in Louisiana wants to communicate with all citizens and has aired TV spots on TV stations in every corner of Louisiana. Over the next few months we will be updating and improving our website to make it a clearinghouse for citizens to get involved in the political process and make their voices heard.
In addition to the use of media and the Web, Believe in Louisiana will be using other methods to involve people in the process of pushing for real change, including going on college campuses and working with existing organizations. It is our goal to involve thousands of folks from all over the state, regardless of party affiliation, to take an active role in asking our government leaders to give Louisiana a fresh start.
Our new group believes the people of Louisiana have high goals and they know this is an important time in our history. Louisianians will rise to the challenge. It’s time to once again Believe in Louisiana.
Believe in Louisiana is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the state of Louisiana, and registered as a 527 political organization under the Internal Revenue Code. All contributions and expenditures will be publicly disclosed. Believe in Louisiana knows that complete transparency is very important to us, just as it should be in government.
